Hello there, I’m L. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a teacher. I have breast cancer. HER2+/ER+/PR- Stage 2A IDC to be exact.
L is a lifelong resident of the Dallas area where she met the love of her life, A, her husband, in high school. After graduating with a degree in English from the University of North Texas, L began a career as a high school English teacher thinking it was something she could do until she figured out what she really wanted to do with her life. Two years after college graduation, L married her high school sweetheart, and she discovered what she really wanted to do with her life was to continue teaching, which she has done for nineteen years.
L and her husband, A, have two children: their daughter, S, and their son, AJ.
L began her dream teaching job with the 2015-2016 school year, and A received a promotion. Then, the bottom fell out. Three weeks after accepting her dream job, L heard four words that no 37 year old with two young children wants to hear: You have breast cancer. It is aggressive, but we’re going to do everything we can.
With those four words, life changed. Completely. Utterly. Irrevocably.
Those Four Words follows L’s life as she lives with breast cancer treatment while being a wife, a mother, a friend, and a teacher. L can be reached at thosefourwordsblog[at]gmail[dot]com.
