Heartbreak

This morning, AJ asked me a question.

“Mommy…the medicine you’ve been taking. The one that made your hair fall out and made you feel bad. It’s going to make you all better, right? I know you have to take a lot of medicine for a long time, but it’s going to make you all better, right?”

All I could answer, “I hope so, baby. I hope so.”

And then, I cried, but not where he could see.

  1. I went through this with my teenage-aged and adult-aged children too. It’s so hard on our families and our children. But my children have told me that my cancer journey has forever changed their lives because they all now know for a fact that life is short and everything can change in a moment. Best wishes to you and I pray this part of your journey ends and joy comes soon.
